Ingredients

  • 1.50 ounces Don Julio Reposado tequila
  • 1 grapefruit
  • 1 ounce Italian apéritif
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces seltzer
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Ice
  • Kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Slice a thin round from the grapefruit and cut it in half to create a half moon shape. Juice the remaining grapefruit.
  2. Sprinkle kosher salt on a plate. Rub half of the rim of a highball glass with one of the grapefruit slices. Dip the rim of the glass in the salt and fill the glass with ice.
  3. Add Don Julio Reposado tequila, grapefruit juice, Italian apéritif, lime juice, and sugar to the glass.
  4. Stir the mixture vigorously and strain it into the prepared glass.
  5. Top off the cocktail with seltzer and garnish with the remaining grapefruit slice.
