Ingredients
- 2 cups apple cider
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. mulling spices
- 5-10 fresh thyme sprigs
- 1-2 oz. apple cider syrup
- 2 oz. bourbon
- Ice
- Fresh thyme for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and mulling spices over medium-high heat.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5-8 minutes.
- Remove the syrup from the heat, add the thyme, and transfer it to a glass jar. Place it in the fridge to cool for about 2 hours; do not strain out the thyme or mulling spices yet.
- When ready to make the cocktail, add ice to a cocktail shaker and fill a 5-6 oz glass with crushed or shaved ice.
- Add the bourbon, apple cider syrup, and extra thyme leaves to the cocktail shaker, then shake for about 20 seconds.
- Pour the cocktail into the glass, top with thyme for garnish, and serve.
