Ingredients
- 1 egg, separated
- 1 1/2 tablespoons superfine sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons Bourbon
- 1 tablespoon dark rum
- 2 tablespoons cognac
- freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat the egg yolk until it becomes thick and pale yellow.
- Gradually add the sugar to the egg yolks while continuing to beat.
- Stir in the milk and 1/2 cup of heavy cream until well combined.
- Add the bourbon, rum, and cognac to the mixture, stirring constantly.
- Just before serving, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form, then gently fold it into the mixture.
- Whip the remaining 1/2 cup of heavy cream until stiff, and fold it into the mixture.
