Ingredients

  • 1 egg, separated
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons superfine sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons Bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon dark rum
  • 2 tablespoons cognac
  • freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolk until it becomes thick and pale yellow.
  2. Gradually add the sugar to the egg yolks while continuing to beat.
  3. Stir in the milk and 1/2 cup of heavy cream until well combined.
  4. Add the bourbon, rum, and cognac to the mixture, stirring constantly.
  5. Just before serving, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form, then gently fold it into the mixture.
  6. Whip the remaining 1/2 cup of heavy cream until stiff, and fold it into the mixture.
  7. Sprinkle the cocktail with freshly grated nutmeg before serving.
