Ingredients
- 1/4 cup half & half or light cream
- 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 teaspoon instant coffee crystals
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 ounce whiskey
- 1 tablespoon rum
- 1/2 tablespoon chocolate syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, mix the half & half, sweetened condensed milk, and instant coffee crystals until the coffee dissolves.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolk and gradually add 4-5 ladles of the hot mixture, then return it to the pan and stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a high simmer and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Turn off the heat and add the whiskey, rum, chocolate syrup, and vanilla extract, then stir to combine.
- Allow the mixture to cool, then cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, or overnight.
- After chilling, pour the mixture through a sieve into another container to remove any egg particles.
- Transfer to bottles or a container with a lid and refrigerate. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
