Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean (split and seeds scraped out)
  • 3 earl grey tea bags (or 3 tsp loose tea)
  • 1 oz Whiskey (Jamesons)
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz earl grey vanilla simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz egg white
  • 1 twist lemon peel
  • 1 handful ice cubes

Instructions

  1. To make the earl grey vanilla simple syrup, bring water, sugar, and vanilla beans to a boil, then add the teabags and let steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the syrup cool.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine whiskey, lemon juice, earl grey vanilla simple syrup, and egg white. Shake for 20 seconds.
  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake for an additional 10 seconds.
  4. Strain and pour the mixture into a cocktail tumbler.
  5. Add ice and garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
