A tribute to Florida A&M University, this FAMU Three Strike Cooler combines black tea, whiskey, peach nectar, and vanilla extract, resulting in a vibrant and refreshing cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1.50 black tea bags or 1/2 tablespoon loose black tea
  • 2 large mint leaves, plus extra mint sprig for garnish
  • Ice
  • 2 oz small-batch whiskey, such as Uncle Nearest 1884
  • 2 oz peach nectar (or mango nectar)
  • 1/2 oz orange liqueur
  • 1/4 oz pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Boil 2 1/2 cups of water, then transfer 2 cups to a heatproof vessel.
  2. Steep the black tea in the hot water for 10 minutes, allowing it to cool to room temperature.
  3. Use a muddler to gently crush the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker to release their fragrance.
  4. Fill the shaker halfway with ice, then add the whiskey, peach nectar, orange liqueur, vanilla extract, and 3 oz of the prepared tea.
  5. Shake the mixture for 30 seconds.
  6. Strain the cocktail into a highball glass filled with ice and garnish with a mint sprig.
