Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, separated
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 oz light rum
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg whites and salt until stiff peaks form; set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks until light. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until thick and lemon-colored.
  3. Slowly stir in the rum and vanilla extract.
  4. Whip the cream until softly stiff. Fold the whipped cream and egg whites into the yolk mixture.
