Ingredients
- 1 egg, separated
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3/4 cup thickened cream
- 2 tablespoons Bourbon
- 4 teaspoons dark rum
- 3 teaspoons brandy
- Pinch of mixed spice
- Finely grated nutmeg, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until they become pale and thick, which should take about 4-6 minutes.
- Add the milk and 1/2 cup of the cream to the yolk mixture, and whisk until well combined.
- Stir in the Bourbon, rum, brandy, and mixed spice, and whisk until fully combined.
- Refrigerate the mixture for at least 5 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to develop.
- In an electric mixer, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the milk mixture.
- In the same electric mixer, whisk the remaining 1/4 cup of cream until soft peaks form, then fold it into the egg and milk mixture.
- Serve the cocktail in glasses, sprinkled with finely grated nutmeg.
