Irish Whiskey Dream

This traditional Irish Coffee recipe originates from Waterford, Ireland and is made authentic with the addition of Jameson whiskey. The warm and rich flavors of coffee and whiskey are complemented by a layer of lightly whipped cream, creating a delightful treat for any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Jameson Irish whiskey
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 6 oz hot brewed coffee
  • 2 tbsp lightly whipped heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Warm a stemmed glass coffee mug by swirling boiling water in it, then discard the water.
  2. Pour the Jameson whiskey into the warmed glass.
  3. Add the brown sugar.
  4. Pour the hot brewed coffee into the glass, leaving about an inch from the rim.
  5. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  6. Gently pour the whipped cream over the back of a spoon to float on top of the coffee.
  7. Optionally garnish with a trimmed vanilla pod, cinnamon stick, or a grating of fresh nutmeg.
  8. Serve the coffee on a plate with NO SPOON, and drink through the layer of cream.
