Ingredients

  • 8-10 mint leaves
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz bourbon
  • Crushed ice
  • Powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place 8 to 10 mint leaves in the bottom of a chilled julep cup or rocks glass.
  2. Add simple syrup and gently press the mint leaves with a muddler to release the essential oils.
  3. Fill the cup with crushed ice, followed by 2 ounces of bourbon. Stir until the glass frosts.
  4. Add more ice and stir again.
  5. Garnish with a few mint sprigs and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired. Serve with a straw.
