Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons black tea
  • Juice from 1 navel orange (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey
  • Plenty of ice

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water and cinnamon stick. Heat over medium heat until the water is about to rapidly bubble, then reduce the heat to a gentle simmer. Cover and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  2. Turn off the heat and add the black tea to the saucepan. Cover with the lid slightly askew and steep for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea and stir in the honey. Let it cool down slightly.
  4. If using a cocktail shaker, combine half of the brewed tea, half of the orange juice, and plenty of ice cubes. Shake vigorously, then pour the iced tea into a serving glass filled with ice.
  5. If not using a cocktail shaker, chill the brewed black tea in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes, then stir in the orange juice. Pour into serving glasses with plenty of ice.
