Ingredients
- 1 cup packed fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 ounces gin
- 1/2 ounce peach liqueur
- 1/4 ounce basil simple syrup
- 3-5 fresh basil leaves
- 2 peach slices (peeled)
- 1 ounce peach nectar
- 3-4 ounces club soda (preferably chilled)
Instructions
- To prepare the basil simple syrup, combine sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil.
- Add the fresh basil, and gently crush it to release its oils into the sugar mixture.
- Cook for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Strain and transfer the syrup to an airtight container. It can be refrigerated for up to 1 month.
- For the gin fizz, muddle gin, peach liqueur, peach slices, basil, and basil simple syrup in a glass.
- Add ice, then pour in the peach nectar and club soda.
- Stir gently to combine, and garnish with basil and a peach slice.
