Ingredients

  • 1 satsuma orange, peeled and sectioned
  • Crushed ice
  • 1/4 cup dry gin
  • 1/4 cup fresh satsuma orange juice (about 1 satsuma)
  • 1/2 tablespoon Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
  • Satsuma orange rind (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the satsuma sections in cold water and then freeze them for about 30 minutes until firm.
  2. Place crushed ice in a martini shaker.
  3. Add gin, fresh satsuma orange juice, and Grand Marnier to the shaker, then shake well.
  4. Strain 1/2 cup of the gin mixture into a martini glass.
  5. Add the frozen satsuma sections to the glass.
  6. Garnish with satsuma orange rind, if desired.
