- 2 tbsp Light Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 Cinnamon Stick
- 1-2 Whole Cloves
- 1-2 Allspice Berries
- 1/8 Vanilla Bean (, split open vertically)
- Pinch of Kosher Salt
- 1 cup Water
- 2 oz Dark Rum ((or 1 tsp Rum Extract))
- Whipped Cream
- Freshly grated Nutmeg
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, vanilla bean, salt, and water.
- Cook on LOW for 5 1/2 hours.
- Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove spices and any butter solids; return liquid to the slow cooker to keep warm.
