Ingredients
- 3 1/2 tablespoons soft light brown sugar
- a few dashes of Angostura bitters
- 2 1/4 tablespoons bourbon or rye whisky
- orange twist for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the sugar and 3 1/2 tablespoons of water in a pan, heat gently until the sugar dissolves, and then cool. This will make more than you need but will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks.
- In an old fashioned glass, mix 3 teaspoons of sugar syrup and the bitters until combined.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes.
- Pour over the bourbon and stir well.
- Garnish with a twist of orange peel and serve.
