Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2-3 mint leaves
  • 2 family-sized tea bags
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 to 2 oz bourbon
  • crushed ice
  • 1 lemon slice
  • 1 sprig of mint

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water, sugar, and mint leaves to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let it steep for around 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bags and add 1 1/2 cups of cold water. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Pour the bourbon into the tea mixture.
  5. Fill a glass with crushed ice and pour the tea mixture over it.
  6. Garnish with a lemon slice and a mint sprig. Squeeze the lemon into the drink if desired.
