Ingredients
- 5 mandarin oranges
- 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice (about 1/2 lime)
- 3 ounces gin
- 10 - 12 ice cubes
- 6 ounces tonic water
Instructions
- Cut the mandarin oranges in half and slice one half into 1/8-inch slices.
- Place the orange slices on a foil-lined baking sheet and torch them with sugar until they are caramelized and slightly burnt.
- Allow the torched oranges to cool, then squeeze the juice from them, discarding any seeds and sugar pieces.
- Combine the torched mandarin orange juice with lime juice and gin.
- Fill 2 glasses with ice cubes and divide the gin mixture between them.
- Pour tonic water into each glass and garnish with the torched mandarin orange slices.
