Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup hot brewed espresso or coffee
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat a heatproof glass by filling it with hot water, then discard the water.
  2. Shake the heavy cream in a cocktail shaker until it thickens slightly but remains fluid.
  3. Add white sugar to the warm glass, followed by Irish whiskey, and then pour in the hot espresso or coffee. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  4. Gently layer the whipped cream over the surface of the drink using a flat-bottomed spoon.
  5. Garnish with grated nutmeg, if desired, and serve immediately.
